‘Tis the Saison!

’Tis the Saison is an evening built around both education and tasting. In this class, we’ll explore the history of farmhouse brewing—from the traditions of Wallonia and the influence of Vanberg & Dewulf/Donald Feinberg to the legacy of Saison Dupont and Brewery Ommegang.

These foundations ultimately inspired Blackberry Farm Brewery and, today, Peaceful Side Brewery as we continue crafting high-quality, world-renowned saisons. How these old world, rustic beers found their way to the American market and their niche in the world of craft beer, a world dominated by hops and adjuncts.

Tasting wise, Cody will be curating a selection of some of his favorite examples of the style (both Belgian and American) from renowned breweries known for their dedication to farmhouse beers. Each beer tasted will also be accompanied by the story and history of said brewery as well.
